It’s finally that time of year again, when everyone gathers together in the stands to cheer on the one and only varsity football team: the Waxahachie Indians. Friday, August 28th, was the day that started Indian Football for 2o15-16 season. When you walked into the Midlothian stadium you could feel the tension. Friday’s win was a great way to start off the year, but the win did not come easy for us.
“I feel like no one expected us to win so there wasn’t a lot of pressure, but now since everyone saw us come back and win the game; I think maybe a lot of people will watch us and maybe expect us to win,” said Junior Anthony Bartolo.
At kick off the Midlothian Panthers scored a touchdown, bringing the score 0-7; but, by the end of the second quarter the score was 30-30. After half time, stands were going crazy.
“The crowd went to an unreal level of excitement,” said Junior Natalie Wilt.
The boys came back scoring two more touchdowns and kept fighting. Never giving up, the team brought home a win of 40-32.
