The culmination of 22 interconnected films meets its epic finale as Marvel Studios approaches the end of an era with Avengers: Endgame, for which the new trailer has just been released.

Marvel has been extremely secretive about this film, not even revealing the title until the end of the trailer.

Your favorite heroes, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Hawkeye (AKA Ronin), and Rocket are back following the horrific events of Avengers: Infinity War. 

From this point forward, there will be spoilers of Avengers: Infinity War. You have been warned.

After Thanos wiped out half of all life in the universe, including Spider-Man, Winter Soldier, Groot, Drax, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Falcon, Vision, Gamora, Loki, Scarlet Witch, Star-Lord, and more, the Avengers are broken and scattered.

Iron Man and Nebula are adrift in space, with no food and water, very little oxygen left, and no way to get back to Earth.

Back on Earth, the Avengers that remain – Cap, Black Widow, Thor, and Hulk – are reeling from their defeat by the hands of The Mad Titan.

Hawkeye has taken on a new persona, Ronin, and abandoned his bow and arrow for a sword. This is a darker version of Hawkeye from the comics that fans have been hoping to see for years. The trailer doesn’t make it clear who in his family he lost to bring him to that point.

The Avengers must rally from this loss to defeat Thanos once and for all.

It is unclear what Marvel has planned after Avengers: Endgame, but they have announced that they have plans for 20 more films after this one. With many of the actors’ contracts expiring, will the next 20 films bring in a new wave of heroes, or will our favorite heroes live on to protect this universe?
