Faussett-Stoops garners 800th win

Friday saw a piece of history etched into the record book as the Lady Indians powered past Waco Midway, 2 sets to 0, to hand longtime coach Sandy Faussett-Stoops her 800th win.

“I really didn’t think I would hang around this long,” Faussett-Stoops told the Waxahachie Daily Light. “This is a really special group of kids, and they were all so nice and gracious and fought so hard that it just made it that much better and sweeter and more enjoyable.”

Faussett-Stoops’ Lady Indians took an early lead with a 25-12 win in the first set, and the Tribe would eke out the deciding second set by a 28-26 score. Senior Lacy Mott finished the game with 14 kills, and senior Ragan Ward chipped in 21 assists and 8 digs.

The Indians continue their run in the Mansfield ISD Invitational today against Mansfield Lake Ridge and Birdville.
