Review Over The Book “A Long Way Gone”
I read the book A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah for an English project these past two weeks. The book showed an insight into the civil wars that took place in Sierra Leone, Africa from a young boy’s perspective whose decisions caused him to never see his family again.
The unexpectedness, sadness, and reality of this book show throughout the chapters and can make the reader be captivated in whatever situation Ishmael and his friends are in. The struggles that the boys witness running from rebels with no food, no refuge, no new clothes or shoes is crazy to even imagine. Imagine running for your life every single moment of every single day until the government decides to finally step in and help.
I highly recommend this book to all readers. It really opened up my eyes to what our world is really like and what some people are really capable of.
