Pop culture commentary, insightful thoughts about life and raunchy humor — that’s what Enya Umanzor and Drew Phillips offer on their YouTube channel/podcast “Emergency Intercom.”
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, 21-year-old Umanzor and 23-year-old Phillips decided to do something productive with their lives. That something led to them becoming known as prominent social media influencers and content creators. Their ability to speak on serious topics such as self-acceptance, morals and occasionally politics while keeping up with hilarious bits and personal anecdotes has garnered thousands of YouTube subscribers, Instagram followers and high ratings on Spotify.
Hailing from the mean streets of Miami, Florida, Enya Umanzor was born on January 22, 1999. She began her internet career on the social media platform, Vine, where her engaging and hilarious videos gained her over 500k followers. After Vine was shut down, Enya transitioned to YouTube under the username “enjajaja,” and started to create makeup tutorials, fashion hauls and personal vlogs. Her authentic and candid personality attracted thousands of people, leading her to earn 900k subscribers.
In addition to her online presence, Enya shortly explored an acting career, notably portraying Fiona in the series “Stuck.” She has also collaborated with prominent fashion houses like Celine and Miu Miu, and starred in advertising campaigns for Bimba Y Lola. Her diverse career reflects her versatility and ability to connect with audiences across various platforms, solidifying her status as a prominent social media influencer.
Drew Phillips, born on March 4, 1998 in Granbury, Texas, is a popular internet personality and content creator. He first gained recognition also on the social media platform, Vine. On the app, he posted videos centered around comedy and his pet cat. These videos garnered over 500k followers. Following the shutdown of Vine, Drew — like Enya — transitioned to YouTube where he posted comedic content and challenges. As of 2024, his self-titled channel has gained over 500k subscribers and 29 million views. Beyond his YouTube based endeavors, Drew maintains a strong presence on social media, with over 600k followers on Instagram. His journey from a small-town, Texan to a notable figure in social media emphasizes his adaptability and commitment to content creation.
“In the year of our Lord” 2021, Enya and Drew expanded their creative endeavors even further by co-hosting the previously mentioned comedy podcast “Emergency Intercom” with each other. As of February 2025, the podcast has released 183 episodes and accumulated thousands of subscribers on YouTube. Their podcasts success can be credited with their authenticity, humor and relatability. From introducing guests like model and social media personality Quenlin Blackwell to collaborating with luxury brands like “Heaven” by Marc Jacobs, they have come a long way since 2021 and they seem to only be progressing in their respective and conjoined careers.
