Nick Garza, a senior who has been playing tennis for 6 years, has earned the first record for tennis in doubles.
“Nick Garza has set the record for the most doubles wins in a season at 15.” Coach Tanner said. “He will go down as a Waxahachie tennis legend.”
With every game, Garza would persevere.
“Every time the odds were against him he would come back and add to his win streak,” senior Braden Bell said. “He really is an amazing player.”
Garza is proof that hard work pays off.
“He is persistent, ambitious, and hardworking,” senior Gracie Kinnard said. “He has put a lot of time into doing something that he enjoys and I’m so proud of how much he has improved.”
His last fall season in high school is recognized as a success.
“It’s the best doubles record I’ve seen since I’ve been coaching.” Coach Alford said. “Amazing job Nick!”
