The WHS theater department has won awards for musical and advanced theatre and won One Act play, proving their up to the task to compete.
This year the winter musical is Addams Family, which has just been casted. This cast is posted on the theater bulletin board for those who want to view it.
The theater department is also focusing this year on creating buttons and t-shirts for WHS junior Westin Whitford, who was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
According to The Cleveland Clinic, “Osteosarcoma (osteogenic sarcoma) is a type of cancer that starts in your bones. In the beginning, the cancer cells appear to be regular bone cells. Then, they create tumors, and those tumors create immature, irregular, diseased bone.”
Half of the proceeds WHS theater makes on the t-shirts and buttons will go to Westin Whitford and his family for his cancer treatment.
Westin is in all of our prayers around WHS!
Stay tuned for more theater content coming this semester.
