Ms. Edwards

Ms. Edwards is one of the cosmetology teachers at the high school. This is her third year teaching, but her first year full-time. She choose cosmetology because she has loved the industry and she has skills that no one can take away from her.

Edwards got her cosmetology license when she graduated from Waxahachie High School. She choose to teach here because she has always had a love for this age group. Previously she taught older students at Paul Mitchell Hair School.

She said her favorite part about being a teacher is building a lot of relationships with her students and seeing the growth in them and their skills.

“I also enjoy helping students see their potential that I see in all of my students,” Edwards said.

Her passion for cosmetology started when her sister was in cosmetology in high school. She was inspired by all of the things her sister could do. Big role models in her life are her best friend, Jessica Mosley, the director at Paul Mitchell in Arlington.

As for advice for upcoming sophomores entering the cosmetology field, Edwards said, “You must have an open mindset and always finish what you start.”
