2019 NBA Playoffs

Following the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte last week, the playoffs are inching closer. This season has been a surprise for some teams, with many people turning on their televisions to some amazing games this season.

Some rookies have especially stood out, like the Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. and Slovenia’s Luka Dončić. With marksmanship and dribbling abilities, rookies like Dončić are definitely potential All-Stars should they continue this world class form.

This season also saw the most trading activity in years. The New York Knicks, currently in last place in the Eastern Conference, made a promising deal when they traded Kristaps Porzingis, Courtney Lee, and Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Dallas Mavericks for Wesley Matthews, DeAndre Jordan, Dennis Smith Jr., and two first-round picks. With this trade the Knicks and Mavericks could easily be playoff contenders in the near future.

Currently, the Eastern Conference is topped by the Bucks, Raptors, and the Pacers. Milwaukee is on absolute fire this year under the leadership of MVP candidate Giannis “Greek Freak” Antetokounmpo. The Western Conference is led by Golden State, with Kevin Durant and Steph Curry putting in their work ethic and talent to ensure a possible finalist spot in the future for the playoffs.

This season continues to bring plenty of surprises, and this year’s playoffs is sure to bring must-see TV.
