Student section themes set for football season

The themes for the student section are set starting off the season with “Black Out” against rival Ennis for the Battle of 287 on Friday, Aug. 26. Students wear black and throw baby powder in the air during Rock Out.

“We decided to do Black Out against Ennis because it is tradition,” student body public relations officer senior Lily Sanchez said. “The baby powder looks really cool but kind of gross afterward.”

The rest of the student section themes for home games are planned as well. The games are as follows: Construction Zone, Gold Out, Green Out, and Western Night. Senior Dru Fuller is most excited about Construction Zone.

“I like Construction Zone because we have never done it before,” Fuller said. “I’ll probably wear a safety vest and maybe a hardhat.”

Maddie Dunn, junior Charmer first lieutenant, is looking forward to Gold Out because the future Charmers will be performing with them.

“Gold Out represents childhood cancer,” Dunn said. “We get to show our support for the kids going through that situation.”

Student council sponsor Conrad Bates organizes the student section.

“Seeing the students excited and hyped up makes all the hard work worth it,” Bates said. “I’m looking forward to a great season.”
