Mr. Jacob Perry was named interim principal of WHS by superintendent Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth. He will fill Mrs.Harris’ vacated position after she was named the Itasca superintendent.
Perry has been in education for 23 years. He has served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and district administrator.
“I take great pride in having the opportunity to serve as principal at WHS,” Perry said. ” I started my career here in 2000 as a teacher and a coach and have called Waxahachie my home since then.”
While the search for a permanent principal continues, Perry is creating his own culture WHS in his tenure.
“My goal is to create lasting, meaningful relationships with our students, staff, and stakeholders,” Perry said.”Living each moment of each day with an intentional purpose to build relationships and modeling that intentional lifestyle is what I hope to bring.”
Perry said he looks forward to working with students.
“A major goal I have is to be present, to be visible throughout the campus,” Perry said. ” Being there and gaining the trust of our staff, students and parents is a huge part in the success of WHS.”
